A cultural vision

Growing up in the '60s and '70s in California, founder Larry Leight was heavily motivated by the atmosphere and of the period. Each model of Oliver Peoples is influenced by a cultural happening: for example, the O’Malley - one of the most famous designs from the brand - was inspired by the glasses of Peter O’Malley, the 1970s president of LA-based baseball team The Dodgers.

Oliver Peoples sunglasses are made for lovers of the unusual. Frames are manufactured in limited quantities with deliberate ‘anti-logo’ labeling to appeal to those who crave an understated sartorial choice. Finishing touches, such as opaque finishes and unique ‘breath’ logo are discreet ways that set these frames apart.
