Oscars Best-Dressed: Our Favorite Men’s Eyewear Styles From the 2024 Academy
Last Sunday, stars lined the red carpet at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater ahead of the 2024 Academy Awards. And while we loved all the fashion that dazzled under the flashing lights of hundreds of cameras, we couldn’t help but notice some of the creative choices actors made with their eyewear.
Scroll on to discover the best-dressed men’s list from the 2024 Oscars.
Mahershala Ali, Ke Huy Quan and Robert Downey Jr. in Oliver Peoples
Ke Huy Quan, who previously won Best Supporting Actor at the 2023 Oscars, makes his second appearance in our best-dressed list. The actor has a penchant for Oliver Peoples Sheldrake eyeglasses, and he wore his preferred design again, this time with tinted brown lenses for the red carpet. We guess this is probably a custom lens, but you can get a similar look with the Oliver Peoples Desmon sunglasses in black.
Mahershala Ali also showed his love for the L.A. eyewear house. He paired his suit with a pair of the brand’s elegant metal-rim frames.
Robert Downey Jr. won an Oscar for his role in ‘Oppenheimer.’ The actor wore a pair of the aviator eyeglasses for a retro look that added flair to his satin suit and bolo tie. The Oppenheimer winner also wore a pair of yellow-tinted Oliver Peoples Kasdan sunglasses to the 2024 Academy Awards Luncheon. He’s a fan of Oliver, we presume.
Matthew McConaughey in Garrett Leight
Which actor could ever personify Garrett Leight’s laidback vibe better than Matthew McConaughey? The actor was a presenter at the event and paired a sharp brown and black Atelier Versace suit with Garrett Leight’s Torrey Sunglasses in Palisade Tortoise acetate.
Steven Spielberg in Mr. Leight
Showing that a classic look never goes out of style, Steven Spielberg arrived at the event with his granddaughter. The 77-year-old director paired a timeless Mr. Leight spectacle frame with his suit. More specifically, the Marchmont II eyeglasses. Snag a similar look with the brand’s Marchmont C eyeglasses in Limu and platinum.
Ryan Gosling in Black Sunglasses
At Ryan Gosling’s buzzy rendition of “I’m Just Ken” from the ‘Barbie’ Movie, the actor paid homage to Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’ in an appropriately diamond-dazzled fuchsia Gucci suit.
Amping up the glamour, the star paired the custom fit with sharp cat-eye sunglasses, because let’s face it, black sunnies never disappoint.
