Ray-Ban sunglasses
Be in style, always
There’s no need for an introduction when it comes to Ray-Ban sunglasses, they are American icons, pop-culture staples that are synonymous with some of the most stylish people from the last 80 years.
Born in 1936, the brand itself was created out of practicality, when US Colonel John A. Macready needed something to stop the glare of the sun when flying high. He designed a pair of sunglasses with plastic frames and green lenses, so as not to obscure his vision, and this was how the world-renowned Ray-Ban Aviator was born. Following the aviator, in the 1950s the Wayfarer was introduced, designed by American optical designer Raymond Stegeman ‘to be a mid-century classic to rival the Eames chairs’. The rest, as they say, is history.
