Style that bends the rules

Saint Laurent sunglasses represent the house’s cool, rebellious and effortlessly chic attitude. Their muses are modern-day icons and they let their wearers feel the same.

Saint Laurent was the first brand to borrow masculine shapes for womenswear, and this fusing of masculinity and femininity is also the essence of their sunglasses. Women’s frames blend strength and femininity, contemporary design, and timeless allure. The round silhouettes in thick acetate are smartened with a sleek faceted finish on the front and tailored with the signature corner angles. The Men’s designs are purposefully unisex, drawing inspiration from the latest Saint Laurent shows and featuring iconic corner angle details to distinguish the bold rectangular frame design in acetate - they perfectly echo the nonconformist spirit of the beat generation.

Like a Rolling Stone

Each collection is defined by the themes: iconic, discreet and legendary. Inspired by muses from fashion, music and the arts each pair of sunglasses has a strong spirit. The LouLou, part of the iconic models, is an homage to the French icon and YSL muse LouLou De La Falaise: heart-shaped, Lolita-esque glasses, they promote the cool spirit of the brand. The Dylan, named after Bob Dylan, marry couture traditions with modern design for a shade which is immediately legendary.

Cool couture

This is about making luxury cool and making shades couture too. Frames are made from acetate and feature polarized lenses which are characterized by the corner angle, which takes an additional 4 manufacturing steps to create compared to traditional processes. The artisan processes used by Saint Laurent allow a precision to the millimeter, creating a perfect product in which the corner angle seems part of the frame.

These shades have a youth style, they are anti-classic, anti-conformist and require a confident wearer.

As Yves Saint Laurent once said, “Fashion fades, style is eternal”.
