Versace sunglasses were also rife in the American hip-hop scene, sported by iconic figures such as The Notorious B.I.G. and Lil’ Kim.


After her brother’s untimely death in 1997, Donatella Versace took over, revolutionizing the company on a global scale and enhancing its reputation as forerunners in cutting-edge style. Donatella’s reign at Versace has grown the house’s power as a brand that continues to capture a global audience with its audacious flair and innovation.


Dauntless Design

Inspired by classical mythology, many of the brand’s shades are complete with a signature logo, the Medusa head medallion. A figure of unrestrained power, the logo was chosen by Gianni as a symbol of empowered sensuality and seduction.


Vibrant and bright colors play alongside modern shapes throughout the brand’s frame collections. Classical aviator and cat-eye shapes are given a playful twist with bold new colors. Meanwhile geometric frames show the personal innovation at the heart of the brand.


Throughout its many collections, the label’s shades always share Donatella’s vision: “I think glamour all the time. I wake up in the morning and I’m already thinking glamour.”
