Elegant Luxury, Everlasting Style
Representing a modern approach to classic luxuries, Cartier eyeglasses radiate a stylized confidence.
A history of innovation
World-renowned today as the leading watch and jewelry labels, the prestigious brand’s modest beginnings began over a century ago in 1847 when Louis-François Cartier bought his master’s small workshop in Paris. When his three grandsons inherited the family brand, they made the decision to expand quickly: while Louis stayed in Paris, Pierre went to New York City and Jacques to London.
The move proved a great success and within a few years the Cartier name had spread, becoming synonymous with exceptional craft and exquisite luxury design, supported by its aristocratic clientele and international audience.
An affinity for the contemporary
Embracing contemporary designs was a trademark of the luxury house, and one of the reasons their fashionable watches with irregular shapes and faces were so sought after. In the 80s, Cartier would approach eyewear design with the same expert eye when they launched their first optical glasses.
Though always staying true to their heritage past, the brand continues to explore current trends and fashions. Displaying a precision and technique like no other, the brand’s lenses are notable for their cutting-edge shapes, thin metal rims and temple charms.
Signature, glamorous silhouettes highlight the brand’s innovative attitude, and to this day designs such as the Panthère, the Trinity and Décor C are iconic frame designs for the brand’s present eyewear collections.
