Cutler and Gross sunglasses
Bespoke quality, timeless edge
Founded in 1969 by optometrists Graham Cutler and Tony Gross, the brand shared their vision to create a practical frame that was design-led. In 1971, the pair opened their first store in Knightsbridge and began selling their bespoke frames to a wider public. The duo captured a new public interest with their frames that were practical yet stylish.
Designed in London, Cutler and Gross sunglasses are produced in Northern Italy with each model undergoing a 12 week, 42-step process from production to inspection. As Graham Cutler once said, “My idea of design is a bit old-fashioned. It should be practical and functional and then look good - in that order.”
