Go beyond what’s possible
The brand that defined the 1990s - Oakley sunglasses have been worn by sportspeople across the world for over 30 years.
How it started
Starting out in the back of founder James Jannard’s garage in California, the company has always had innovation at its heart. Jannard started out selling motorbike grips in the mid-70s, using a material that was unlike any other on the market. Then he turned his inventive approach to ski goggles, and in the mid-80s to sunglasses. The brand changed forever in 1994, releasing the Oakley Eye Jacket and catapulting from sports staple to street eyewear of choice, being worn by everyone from Michael Jordan to Tom Cruise.
Out of the box design
Oakley is a brand of firsts. They were the first to use computers to design glasses, for crafting that iconic sculpted look, and they were the first to work with automobile designers, borrowing inspiration from the smooth silhouettes of cars. The result being, one-of-a-kind designs that embody an almost futuristic, sci-fi look - where performance and durability are never compromised.
Research is innovation
Developed with the help of professional athletes, Oakley is at the forefront of high-performance glasses design, with over 600 patents worldwide. Some of the brand’s most famous technologies include Plutonite lenses (one of the most optically pure types of lenses available, made from a very high-grade polycarbonate), High Definition Optics (a range of patented technologies that help optical clarity, visual fidelity, and impact resistance) and Prizm lenses (fine-tuning the light transmission for specific environments and maximizing contrast).
Push limits, question the standard and wear the best in cutting-edge performance and design every day.
