As eyewear specialists, there’s nothing we love more than keeping tabs on trending sunglasses from the most-sought after brands. From ultra-glam collaborations to cult labels that are new to Mia Burton this season, curating the latest designer eyewear is what we do best. Selected by our editors, here is a round-up of the latest sunglasses in style this winter.

Miley Cyrus’s sunglasses in Flowers

Already this year’s self-love anthem, Flowers by Miley Cryus has officially reached ear-worm status. Not to mention that her looks in the video have sparked some serious style envy, particularly when it comes to her sunglasses. Perfectly encapsulating her effortless attitude, Saint Laurent’s SL 461 Betty shades are definitely at the top of our wishlist.

VERSACE

Entering the beginning of 2023, we’re already starting to see the first eyewear trends take shape. One that we find ourselves loving the most? Logomania.

Of course, logomania in itself is nothing new. The word was invented to describe the excessive use of logos in the early 2000s and 2010s. Even though we may have already seen variations on the theme, this time logomania feels decidedly different. More sophisticated and even discreet at times, the trend is not the showy child it once was.

The latest Versace styles prove just that. Backpacking off the trend’s origins in Y2K style and ‘90s nostalgia, the house have renamed their Medusa sunglasses as the Biggie Medusa sunglasses, paying homage to The Notorious B.I.G.’s iconic ‘90s style. This season, Versace has released the legendary design in new popping colorways such as fuchsia and in a variety of shapes from oval, geometric, maxi and of course, the signature rectangular version. Sleek black acetate releases offer color-hesitant of us a pared back version, but still feature the symbolic Medusa medallion temples or extra-bold Versace lettering in metal, for an unapologetic logo-loud profile.

PRADA

Continuing Miuccia Prada’s partnership with Raf Simons, Prada presents styles that tie in Simons’s signature edge with the Italian house’s heritage accents. For Winter 2023, we’re seeing the contemporary Prada Symbole triangle logo refreshed and placed in a variety of new ways from tinted patterned lenses to metal and acetate temples.

Other re-releases that you’ve undoubtedly already seen splashed across your socials are the best selling Prada PR 17WS sunglasses. The brand is riding the look’s popularity with new colorways such as powder pink, yellow marble and honey tortoise, establishing it as a sure fan favorite.

MIU MIU

Miu Miu ties in their soft femininity this season with rebellious lines for a look that is ultra modern and glamorous. The Miu Miu logo script is reimagined for an instantly recognizable touch, from being engraved on the lenses to bold hinge details in gold-tone metal.

New colorways come in creamy tones from caramel to vanilla acetates, while metal frames embrace a pop of color with tinted lenses in richer and dark hues for a dramatic touch.

SAINT LAURENT

Perhaps one of the bigger fashion houses that still pulls its punches when it comes to going full-out logomania, Saint Laurent manages to ride the trend, albeit subtly.

Ultra-chic sunglasses capture the house’s Parisian flair – where less is definitely more. Yet logo engraving temples and eye-catching angular rims, from a red-tipped browline to transparent yellow acetate edges, make these shades unmistakably standout.

Yves would undoubtedly approve.

Gucci HA HA HA Capsule Collection

With the news that creative director Alessandro Michele is exiting Gucci, it's the perfect time to celebrate the designer’s tenure with a pair of the house’s trending sunglasses. If you’re a fan of Michele’s retro designs, you’re sure to fall for the Gucci HA HA HA Capsule Collection, which includes Harry Styles-approved shades that embrace the duo’s playful style and love for vintage looks. Choose from an oversized retro silhouette to these slender yellow-tinted frames, and pair them with your favorite suit or oversized blazer for a look that is totally ‘70s.

Jacques Marie Mage x Lou Doillon

Collaborations with style muses seem to be all the rage, and it doesn’t stop at Gucci. This season, L.A. based eyewear house Jacques Marie Mage announced their trending collection with Lou Doillon. With each frame named after one of Doillon’s songs, the collection showcases what JMM does best; create investment pieces that are made with small-batch production processes, promising perfection with every frame. Our pick? Definitely the All These Nights cat-eye sunglasses.

Kuboraum

When office style on the other hand calls for more playful combinations, Kuboraum’s latest collection delivers with their colorful-tinted lenses surrounded by irregular Mazzucchelli acetate forms. Kaleidoscopic in their geometry and eye-catching in their palettes, these are the trendiest sunglasses to channel some serious dopamine dressing.

Lesca Upcycling Collection

A colorful vision also goes for heritage Parisian house Lesca, now with a green slant; this year the brand re-released their must-have Crown Panto sunglasses as part of their Upcycling Collection. Featuring other models such as the Odet and Clan, the collection crafts models from old acetate sheets that have been collected throughout the years and archived by the brand.

Looking for something completely out of the ordinary? Browse our selection of newly-arrived Cubitts sunglasses. Claudia, our customer care manager, fell in love with them at first sight and bought her own pair. “I love the brand because of the great quality. The acetate is very thick, and they have unconventional silhouettes, not to mention the colors are bespoke and very curated. I bought the Iceni sunglasses in a trendy emerald tone, and now I’ve been wearing them everywhere, both in the office and for city days on the weekend.”

New Year Sparkle

In style now: sparkling eyewear accessories

And it wouldn’t be the new year without the perfect dazzling accessory. We’re especially loving Frame Chain’s gold-metal eyewear chains, especially the Disco model with its sparkling crystal strands.
