The biker look

When it comes to clothing, the moto-inspired style is nothing new. But lately, the trend has also been inspiring eyewear fits, too: just take a look at Rosalia’s ‘motomami’ look that paired the signature moto jacket with super oversized, mask-like sunglasses. The best thing about trending moto-inspired shades is that their statement feel means you can strategically make a look even from what you have already. No need to spend your salary on a new leather jacket, simply strategically pair your oversized jackets and sweatshirts with sleek all-black sunglasses, (we’re going for monochromatic favorites from Saint Laurent), your chunkiest pair of combat boots, and you’re ready to ride.

Sporty redux

Sporty sunglasses are back in style, but not in the activewear way that you may think. This season’s iterations on the sports-styled frame are futuristic with a ‘90s edge, and definitely not made for running. With their metallic colors, exaggerated shapes and sleek dimensions, you just might say they feel a little cyberpunk. Case in point, these latest styles from Balenciaga.

For days when you need that extra shot of confidence, slide on a pair of futuristic narrow mask shapes or a wraparound style from our sporty sunglasses edit.

Rectangular glamour

Leave out your rounded Lennon-inspired frames this season and opt for the It girl’s style of choice: the rectangular sunglass. Angular and ultra-cool, these shades are ideal for adding a high-fashion slant to your everyday look.

We’re loving Prada’s latest rectangular sunglasses, which offer everything from saturated acetates to more streamlined neutral versions in black and white. Fans of pastel tones will find their match in more playful versions like these options from brands like Miu Miu, Marni, Alexander McQueen, and more.

Logomania

The last trend that continues to be popular for 2023? Logomania. The word was invented to describe the excessive use of logos in the early 2000s and 2010s; and even though we may have already seen variations on the theme, this time it feels decidedly different.

The latest Versace shades are inspired by just that. Backpacking off the trend’s origins in Y2K style and ‘90s nostalgia, the house has renamed their Medusa sunglasses as the Biggie Medusa sunglasses, paying homage to The Notorious B.I.G.’s iconic ‘90s style. Other logo-embellished releases that you’ve undoubtedly already seen splashed across your socials are the best-selling Prada PR 17WS sunglasses. The brand is riding the look’s popularity with new colorways such as powder pink, yellow marble and honey tortoise, establishing it as a sure fan favorite for 2023.
