Besides being a football superstar and Posh Spice, David and Victoria Beckham were also known for their iconic couples style. In and out of airports, restaurants and events, the young couple was routinely stalked by paparazzi, which may be why they were also routinely photographed in stylish shades.

While the couple never straight out twinned, they nailed the ‘90s look with their matching rectangular sunglasses. David went for a more masculine metal version with smaller black-tinted lenses while Victoria opted for a brown pair of oversized rectangular shades to match her fit.

Go for a similar look with matching rectangular sunglasses for couples, being sure to differentiate based on your individual preferences and style.

Black matching sunglasses for couples

The all-black frame is an easy option for matching eyewear. Thanks to the monochromatic look, you don’t necessarily have to wear the same silhouette to get the best impact.

All-black sunglasses are a look that stands the test of time. Debby Harry and Chris Stein wore their version of the all-black style in the ‘80s, complete with a white button-down shirt and black blazer.

It’s an evergreen look that easily translates to the present day. Just look at Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s viral couple moment when they coordinated their shades at the 2023 US open. Jenner in Bottega Veneta and Chalamet in Celine, of course.

For the classic couple, consider investing in a matching pair of Oliver Peoples Sunglasses. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis wore similar shades from the brand in 1994. Willis wears the OP-506 sunglasses while Moore went for the iconic O’Malley shades. Both frames’ round shape gives off a matching look while leaving room for each partner’s style.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively also wore the matching sunglass look when they wore Oliver Peoples. Subdued grays and blues paired perfectly with their square acetate frames.

Matching sunglasses for fashion couples

If you and your S/O frequent the fashion crowd, take ASAP Rocky and Rihanna’s couple style as eyewear inspiration. ASAP Rocky was recently named ambassador of Bottega Veneta, and he takes the sartorial look one step further with his eyewear: rounded ‘70s style aviator rims with tortoise sides.

Rihanna, ever the fashion queen, completes the duo with more playful all-black sunglasses. Her oval and rectangular silhouettes run complementary to Rocky’s aviator frames.
