An Evocative Eye for Style
Sportmax eyeglasses radiate a bold confidence with their futuristic and fashion-forward designs.
A Family History
Always daring, the brand was first established in 1969 by Max Mara founder Achille Maramotti as a diffusion line for a younger generation of fashionable women. Maramotti, whose name has been at the forefront of Italian design since the early sixties, was inspired by the sartorial dress of his great-grandmother, Marina Rinaldi. Rinaldi herself had owned an atelier in Reggio Emilia, and her style that would greatly influence the many brands of the Northern Italian house over the years.
Traditional craftsmanship and contemporary, eye-catching designs come together in this Italian heritage brand. Since the mid 70s, the label’s catwalk shows were known for their evocative nature, redesigning current trends and playing with old and new silhouettes. Promoting themes of femininity and strength, recent ambassadors for the brand were top models Mariacarla Boscono, Adriana Lima and more recently, Miriam Sanchez.
With their original attitude and creative spirit, the brand have presented a unique take on eyewear design with their new collections. Current eyewear features angular rims for a captivating look with a futuristic flair. Highlighting versatile shapes, frames are oversized and geometric with detailed accents such as double nose bridges, angled tips and wide rims. Glasses come with Sportmax’s signature, a laser-engraved logo on the temple tips, promising both authenticity and style.
